Turning Back Time

Providing youthful and healthy vitality from the cellular level using autologous stem cells.

Regenerative
AVA Plastic Surgery Regenerative Cell Anti-Aging

Regenerative Cell Anti-Aging

A procedure in which regenerative cell components (SVF, Stromal Vascular Fraction) isolated from the patient's own adipose tissue are concentrated and precisely injected into areas weakened by ageing. Commonly referred to as a "stem cell treatment," this is the formal classification for autologous adipose-derived regenerative cell therapy. Because your own tissue is used, the procedure aims to restore a natural regenerative environment without the risk of rejection. When performed alongside facial fat grafting, it may support improved fat survival conditions and the gradual restoration of skin texture and elasticity.

Check Point Highly Recommended For

  • Accumulated signs of ageing such as reduced skin elasticity or rough texture
  • Wishing to improve the environment for fat graft survival
  • Unsatisfied with results from previous treatments such as fillers or laser
  • Preferring a natural regenerative approach using your own tissue
  • Requiring supplementary care to support a shorter surgical recovery
  • Preferring a gentle supportive treatment rather than major surgery

Regenerative Cell Anti-Aging Procedure

STEP 01
1-on-1 Consultation

A comprehensive assessment of skin ageing stage, fat distribution, and treatment goals to determine the harvesting volume and injection sites

STEP 02
Autologous Fat Harvesting

A small volume (approximately 20–50 cc) is collected from the thighs or abdomen using a micro-cannula. The entry point is a 3–4 mm micro-incision

STEP 03
Kit Separation & Concentration

SVF (Stromal Vascular Fraction) is isolated and concentrated from the adipose tissue using an FDA- and CE-certified separation kit (closed system), with no external exposure throughout the process

STEP 04
Quality Check

The concentration and viability of the isolated regenerative cell components are confirmed prior to injection

STEP 05
Precision Injection

Precisely injected into the facial skin layers, or administered concurrently when combined with fat grafting. IV supplementary delivery may be selected depending on the patient's condition

Autologous Tissue Safety Protocol

Safety procedures are prioritized throughout extraction and purification
from the patient's own tissue.

Evidence-Based Communication

Patient Satisfaction Defines Completion

Care is complete not when the consultation ends,
but when the patient smiles in front of the mirror.

Q&A

Q.What is SVF, and is it the same as what is commonly called a "stem cell treatment"?
A.SVF (Stromal Vascular Fraction) is a regenerative cell component isolated from autologous adipose tissue, and it is the formal classification for what is commonly referred to as a "stem cell treatment." The patient's own fat is harvested, then processed through enzymatic treatment and centrifugation or a separation kit to concentrate the regenerative cell components before injection into the treatment area. Because the patient's own tissue is used, the risk of rejection is exceptionally low.
Q.How is this different from fat grafting, and are they beneficial when combined?
A.Fat grafting involves injecting purified fat cells into areas requiring volume, whereas SVF involves concentrating and injecting regenerative cell components isolated from adipose tissue. When the two procedures are performed together, SVF has been reported to contribute to improving the survival environment of the grafted fat. For this reason, AVA frequently recommends combining facial fat grafting with SVF.
Q.How does this differ from PRP?
A.PRP is a platelet-rich plasma derived from autologous blood and is rich in growth factors such as PDGF, VEGF, and TGF-β. SVF is a regenerative cell component derived from autologous fat and has a greater cell-based mechanism of action compared to PRP. The two treatments differ in their application sites and mechanisms, and may be used individually or in combination depending on the treatment objectives.
Q.How long do the results last?
A.As an autologous tissue-based procedure, the effects tend to develop gradually and cumulatively. Results generally take shape over 1–3 months following treatment and have been reported to be maintained for 6 months to over a year. Individual outcomes vary considerably depending on overall health, the degree of ageing, and lifestyle habits.
Q.Are there any side effects or precautions?
A.Because the patient's own cells and tissue are used, the risk of foreign body reactions or allergic responses is very low. Temporary bruising and swelling at the harvesting site may occur, which typically resolves naturally within a few days. Alcohol, saunas, and strenuous exercise are recommended to be avoided for one week following the procedure.
Q.How can this help when combined with surgery?
A.It is used as a supplementary care option aimed at supporting the tissue regeneration environment. When SVF is performed alongside major surgery, it has been reported to help bring forward the point at which swelling and bruising subside and to support recovery. It is therefore frequently recommended in combination with procedures such as facelift and fat grafting.
Q.Is it a one-time treatment, or are multiple sessions needed?
A.This depends on the degree of ageing and the treatment objectives. It is common to monitor progress for a set period (typically 6 months to 1 year) before deciding whether to proceed with an additional session. When used as supplementary care before or after surgery, a single session is often sufficient.
Q.How long is the recovery?
A.As fat harvesting is involved, mild bruising and swelling at the collection site may be present for 1–3 days, though this generally does not significantly impact daily activities. Makeup over the treated area can typically be applied from Day 1–2 post-procedure, and compression over the harvesting site is recommended for approximately one week, depending on the individual case.
Post-op Instructions
  • Do not rub the surgical area strongly for about a week.
  • Avoid alcohol and smoking for at least 2 weeks as they delay recovery.
  • Swelling and bruising vary individually but will gradually improve.
  • Light walking or stretching helps reduce swelling.
