What is AVA Skin Clinic

AVA Skin Clinic is the dermatological treatment division sub-brand of AVA Plastic Surgery. The same clinic and chief surgeon (board-certified plastic surgeon Dr. Kim Seungsoo) provide care, offering non-invasive and minimally-invasive treatments to patients who want to avoid surgery or prefer a phased approach.

Major Treatment Categories

Radiofrequency & Ultrasound Lifting

Potenza (microneedle RF), Ulthera (HIFU), Thermage, Sofwave (monopolar RF), etc. These treatments deliver thermal energy to the deeper layers of the skin to stimulate collagen production.

Treatment time: 30–90 minutes · Recovery: Immediate return to daily activities (transient redness 1–3 days) · Effect onset: Gradual over 1–3 months · Effect duration: 6–12 months (individual variation).

Laser

Pico laser, CO₂ fractional, laser toning, IPL, etc. Targeting pigmentation, pores, texture, redness, and overall tone and texture improvement. The appropriate laser is selected based on your skin concerns and consultation.

Treatment time: 15–45 minutes · Recovery: 1–7 days depending on modality · Possible side effects: Transient redness, post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation, blistering (rare). Informed consent provided prior to treatment.

Filler

Hyaluronic acid filler — nasolabial folds, under-eye, chin, forehead, nose, lips, etc. Site and volume are determined following patient assessment during consultation.

Effect: Immediate · Effect duration: 6–12 months (product, site, and individual variation) · Possible side effects: Bruising, nodules, vascular complications (rare). Informed consent provided prior to treatment.

Botox

Masseter (jawline), glabella, forehead, crow's feet, calf, hyperhidrosis, etc., following assessment of indication.

Effect onset: 2–5 days · Effect duration: 3–6 months (individual variation) · Possible side effects: Transient change in expression, discomfort.

Thread Lifting

Absorbable threads (PDO, PCL, PLLA) inserted into the subcutaneous layer. Provides immediate traction effect and collagen stimulation over time.

Recovery: 1–7 days to daily activities · Effect duration: 6–12 months (thread type and individual variation) · Possible side effects: Bruising, palpable threads, transient asymmetry.

Skin Booster

Rejuran, Aquashine, InMode, etc., designed to revitalise and hydrate the deeper dermal layers. Aims to improve texture, elasticity, and moisture retention.

Treatment time: 20–40 minutes · Recovery: Immediate return to daily activities · Effect onset: Gradual over 1–3 weeks · Typically administered as a series.

Possible Side Effects & Precautions

All treatments may result in transient redness, discomfort, bruising, or increased sensitivity
Laser and radiofrequency may lead to post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (depending on skin type and aftercare)
Filler may cause nodules or vascular complications (rare; emergency management available)
Botox may cause transient asymmetry or temporary loss of facial expression
Thread lifting may result in palpable or visible threads
