Not a change that fades in months — a change that holds. We prove it with photos at one and two years, not just three months.

Not a temporary tightening. The change is immediate and dramatic, and it holds for years. From there, you simply age naturally.
Consultation, surgery and recovery, all with Dr. Kim
It isn't only the skin that drops. Deep inside, the retaining ligaments that hold your tissue up gradually stretch with age, so when you stand, gravity pulls everything downward. (That's why your face looks better lying down.)
If you only pull the skin tight, it bears all that weight, so it sags again, and the stitched line widens into a scar.
A deep-plane facelift releases the stretched ligaments, lifts the support layer (SMAS) back into place and secures it, then trims the excess. The SMAS now carries the gravitational load, so the skin incision stays tension-free, which means minimal scarring. And because the change is structural, you look genuinely younger from day one, then age naturally from there. (Results vary by individual.)
The same operation gives very different results depending on which layer the surgeon works in. A skin-only lift looks tight for a few months, then sags again.
Dr. Kim works in the deep plane, repositioning the SMAS and releasing the retaining ligaments, so the lift is supported from within, the expression stays natural, and because the skin closes tension-free, the scar stays fine and faint.
※ Results and recovery vary by individual.
The before & after photos you usually see are from the first 1–3 months, when swelling has settled and the skin looks its tightest.
Whether it still holds a year or two later is a very different question.
A skin-only lift droops back within months. A deep-plane lift resets the deeper structure, so the change is immediate and dramatic, and it holds for years. From there, you simply age naturally.
That's why we prove it with 1 and 2-year follow-up photos, not just three months.
Whenever you see a before & after, ask one thing: "show me a year later."
Deep-plane (SMAS) facelift · performed by Dr. Seungsoo Kim · actual, unretouched progress, shown at one year and beyond, not just three months.

A facelift scar comes down to two things: where the incision sits, and how much tension the skin has to bear. The incision follows the natural, inconspicuous lines around the ear and hairline. And because the SMAS carries the gravitational load, the skin is closed with virtually no tension, so it heals into a line so fine that even up close, it's hard to find. Unretouched, see for yourself. (Healing varies by individual.)

The incision follows the natural contour of the ear and hairline. Because the SMAS carries the tension instead of the skin, the skin edge isn't pulled, so the scar heals into a fine line that's hard to find. (Healing varies by individual.)
The facial nerve runs in a known plane and path. We dissect precisely within the SMAS layer, away from its course, to minimize risk. Safety comes from anatomical understanding and experience, and you're monitored throughout surgery.
A pulled look is a sign of a lateral skin-only pull. Lifting vertically (against gravity) in the deep plane keeps expression natural. The goal is "you, refreshed," not "you, operated on."
Yes. Revision is more demanding than a first lift, but with proper deep-plane dissection most concerns (a pulled earlobe, a widened scar, early sagging) can usually be corrected.
Yes. We care for many international patients living in Korea, so consultation, surgical planning and aftercare are all available in English. WhatsApp is the easiest way to reach us.
It's the part everyone worries about most. Here's what recovery really looks like, honestly.
※ Recovery depends on the extent of surgery and your individual condition. Details are explained at consultation.
Tell us what bothers you, and we'll tell you honestly what would help — and what you can skip. No pressure. The consultation is free.
